LONG-AWAITED DEBUT PROJECT

Album Count It All Joy In Stores April 4th 2006

NASHVILLE, TN—The wait is over for fans of newcomer Darrel Petties and SIP. The newly signed group will release their highly anticipated album Count It All Joy April 4, 2006.

Fresh on the heels of his success on the Stellar nominated, Look Up Sing Out CD and full-length video, anticipation of Darrel’s debut album on EMI Gospel is high. In recent months, Petties has established an increasingly high profile, participating in two top selling releases and sustaining a rigorous performance schedule. “Yes Lord” on the Look Up Sing Out CD has received nationwide airplay on gospel radio and his remake of “Glory Hallelujah” is featured on WOW Gospel 2005.

With is debut solo release, Count It All Joy he moves front-and-center in the elite group of young, modern Gospel artists and choir-leaders who are innovatively and excitingly breathing new life into that venerable musical genre.  Darrel and his choir, Sing in Praise, masterfully manage the merging of up-to-the minute R&B, urban influences and true-to-tradition, classic Gospel.  One of the albums powerful vocal performance tracks, “Mighty God,” is a full-tilt shout of praise that kicks off in overdrive and only builds from there. Continuing with the gospel radio hit “Yes Lord,” is a high-energy homage to old-school Gospel that still packs a powerful, modern punch.

“I feel that my music reflects what the kingdom of God is supposed to be hope, healing, inspiration, strength, encouragement, power, relief, restoration, and so much more,” says Petties. In addition to his success as an artist, Darrel and SIP also remain active in numerous community outreach programs. For many years the group has visited nursing homes, foster homes, and hit the streets winning souls for Christ. “I seek to gain the heart of God and his favor.”
