May 19, 2009 (New York, NY) – Gospel music favorite Greg O'Quin & iPraize is steadily climbing the charts with the hit single, “Lead Me Jesus,” which paves the way for the release of the upcoming Pendulum Records CD After The Storm on June 30th.
O'Quin's last release, the 2001 album I Told The Storm won accolades and gathered fans to his heartfelt, inspirational music. The 2009 follow-up CD, the outstanding After The Storm, is the next chapter in the establishment of his music ministry, along with his contemporary vocal ensemble, iPraize.
The first single from the upcoming album, “Lead Me Jesus,” was #1 most added on the gospel charts upon its entry in March. Since then, it has been steadily climbing the gospel chart each week, reaching Top 12 with a bullet the week of June 15th.
Greg and iPraize filmed a video to accompany this stunning song on the weekend of May 9th in Dallas, TX. The video features a scenic contrast, with Old School and New School scenes. The energetic Old School scenes were shot at Wheatland United Methodist Church, a Texas Historical Landmark built in 1842, utilizing 175 costumed cast members. The New School scenes were shot at Inspiring Body of Christ Church (IBOC) Dallas, with a crowd of 3000 screaming young people, all on their feet in praise. IBOC is the second largest church in Dallas, the third largest church in Texas and the sixth largest church in the United States, with over 30,000 members, who range in age from 14-35. O'Quin's own church, The Church Without Walls International, of which he is the pastor and founder, meets on the second level of IBOC. The video shoot set enjoyed a special guest, who came in support—former American Idol finalist turned gospel vocalist George Huff.
On May 14th, Greg O'Quin and iPraize performed “Lead Me Jesus” and “I Told The Storm” at the homegoing memorial of Dallas gospel radio pioneer Joe Bagby. Known as “The Dean of Gospel,” Bagby was inducted into the Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 2002. He was very instrumental in the launch of O'Quin's gospel music career, having been the consummate gospel announcer in Dallas for the past 51 years. Taking place at the For Gospel Holy Temple in Dallas, Greg O'Quin honored Bagby's memory by performing one of Bagby's favorite songs--”Lead Me Jesus.”
Greg O'Quin & iPraize is a gospel ensemble for these days and times. They recognize the Old, are the New, and honor the Traditional.
