He is God Almighty
Isaiah 9:6 -- For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government
will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
Isaiah 7:14 -- Therefore the Lord himself will give you a sign: The virgin will
be with child and will give birth to a son, and will call him Immanuel (Prophecy).
Matthew 1:23-- "The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son,
and they will call him Immanuel"-- which means, "God with us"
(Isaiah 7:14 prophecy fulfilled).
Isaiah 40:3 -- A voice of one calling: "In the desert prepare the way
for the LORD; make straight in the wilderness a highway for our God (Prophecy).
John 1:23--John replied in the words of Isaiah the prophet, "I am
the voice of one calling in the desert, 'Make straight the way for the Lord'"
(Isaiah 40:3 prophecy fulfilled).
Isaiah 45:23 -- Before me every knee will bow; by me every tongue will swear
(Prophecy).
Philippians 2:9-11 -- Prophecy fulfilled: Therefore God exalted
him to the highest place and gave him the name that is above every name, 10 that at the
name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth, 11
and every tongue confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Isaiah
45:23 prophecy referring to Jesus).
Revelation 22:13, 16 13 -- I am the Alpha and the Omega, the First and the Last, the
Beginning and the End. 16 "I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this
testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the
bright Morning Star."
He is the image of the invisible God
Hebrews 1:3 -- The Son is the radiance of God's glory and the exact
representation of his being, sustaining all things by his powerful word. After he had
provided purification for sins, he sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.
2 Corinthians 4:4 -- The god of this age has blinded the minds of unbelievers,
so that they cannot see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the
image of God.
Colossians 1:15 -- He is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn
over all creation.
He came to save us from our sin
Matthew 21 -- "She will give birth to a son, and you are to give him the name
Jesus, because he will save his people from their sins."
John 1:29 -- The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him and said, "Look,
the Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!
John 3:17 -- For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world,
but to save the world through him.
Hebrews 7:27 -- ...He sacrificed for their sins once for all when he
offered himself.
I Jn 1:7 -- But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have
fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin.
I John 3:5 -- But you know that he appeared so that he might take away our
sins. And in him is no sin.
He is the Son of God
Ps 2:7 -- I will proclaim the decree of the LORD: He said to me, "You are
my Son; today I have become your Father. (Also Hebrews 1:5)
Matthew 1:18 -- This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother
Mary was pledged to be married to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found
to be with child through the Holy Spirit.
John 3:16 -- "For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only
Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
Matthew 3:17 -- And a voice from heaven said, "This is my Son, whom I
love; with him I am well pleased."
Matt 26:63-64 -- But Jesus remained silent. The high priest said to him, "I
charge you under oath by the living God: Tell us if you are the Christ, the Son of
God." 64 "Yes, it is as you say," Jesus replied. "But I say to all
of you: In the future you will see the Son of Man sitting at the right hand of the Mighty
One and coming on the clouds of heaven."
Romans 1:4 -- ...and who through the Spirit of holiness was declared with
power to be the Son of God by his resurrection from the dead: Jesus Christ our Lord.
He is a descendant of David
Romans 1:3 -- ...regarding his Son, who as to his human nature was a descendant of
David...
Revelation 22:16 -- "I, Jesus, have sent my angel to give you this
testimony for the churches. I am the Root and the Offspring of David, and the
bright Morning Star."
He is the King of Kings and Lord of lords
Revelation 17:14 -- They will make war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will overcome
them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings-- and with him will be his called,
chosen and faithful followers."
Jesus’ Father, the Spirit of God, was living within him.
John 10:30 -- I and the Father are one."
John 10:38 -- But if I do it, even though you do not believe me,
believe the miracles, that you may know and understand that the Father is in me, and I in
the Father."
John 14:20 -- On that day you will realize that I am in my
Father, and you are in me, and I am in you.
John 14:8-10 -- Philip said, "Lord, show us the Father and
that will be enough for us." 9 Jesus answered: "Don't you know me, Philip, even
after I have been among you such a long time? Anyone who has seen me has seen the
Father. How can you say, 'Show us the Father'? 10 Don't you believe that I am in
the Father, and that the Father is in me? The words I say to you are not just my own.
Rather, it is the Father, living in me, who is doing his work.
2 Corinthians 5:19 -- ...God was in Christ reconciling the
world to Himself, not imputing their trespasses to them, and has committed to us the word
of reconciliation. (NKJ, the NIV does not follow the Greek text as accurately on this
verse)
Colossians 1:19 -- For God was pleased to have all his
fullness dwell in him
He is the baptizer with the Holy Ghost, the Comforter
Matt 3:11 -- "I baptize you with water for repentance. But after me will come
one who is more powerful than I, whose sandals I am not fit to carry. He will baptize you
with the Holy Spirit and with fire.
Mark 1:7-8 -- And this was his message: "After me will come
one more powerful than I, the thongs of whose sandals I am not worthy to stoop down and
untie. 8 I baptize you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit."
John 1:33 -- I would not have known him, except that the one who
sent me to baptize with water told me, 'The man on whom you see the Spirit come down and
remain is he who will baptize with the Holy Spirit.'
He is the Holy Ghost/Comforter
John 14:16-18 -- And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another Counselor
to be with you forever-- 17 the Spirit of truth. The world cannot accept him, because it
neither sees him nor knows him. But you know him, for he lives with you and will be in
you. 18 I will not leave you as orphans; I will come to you. |
