Black Gospel Music is a musical genre or style of
music that continues to become a powerful force in the
music and culture of America and even the world.
A Clef is defined by Webster
as:
"A sign placed at the beginning of a musical staff
to determine the pitch of the notes".
Gospel music has reached a pitch where the lines
between sacred and secular have been blurred. In our zeal
and under the guise to "reach the lost at any cost", the
message of the pure gospel is being compromised time and
time again as we allow the world and it's messengers to
minister to us. God's standard of living a life of holiness
continues to be compromised as secular artists place "gospel
songs" on their projects, "gospel" artists strike musical
alliances with secular artists, and many "gospelize" songs
by replacing secular lyrics in melodies composed by those
clearly not living lives according to Godly principles.
These artists and projects supposedly are ministering
"gospel" from one side while simultaneously trumpeting a
message of sin from the other. (Revelation 22:11) (Matthew 6:24) (Romans 12:1). This is an attempt of the adversary to lure us to a
compromised version of music rendering us neither hot nor
cold.
Our ministry purpose here is two-fold:
First and foremost it is to please God and to
promote the gospel music ministries of those who
minister and live to do the same, promote not our
own agenda's but that of the kingdom of God.
(Colossians 1:10) (Colossians 3:17)
Secondly, it is to
provide a distinctive ministry resource with a Godly
standard for those who participate in, listen to,
and support this genre of music. (II Corinthians 6:14-17)
BlackGospel.com is not a site that focuses on the
gospel music
industry, nor does
it focus on the
celebrity status of
the artists but it's
focus is on
presenting and
making available
product that the
MINISTERS to God
and to His people,
and harnessing the
vision and testimony
of those that have
been called to a
LIFE of music
ministry with
particular emphasis
on fulfilling the
will of God !
